Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) is a body-oriented approach to resolving symptoms of stress, shock, and trauma that accumulate in the nervous system. Rather than focusing solely on thoughts or stories about past events, SE works with physical sensations and the nervous system’s natural responses to help the body release stored stress and return to balance.

It supports people who feel stuck in patterns of fight, flight, or freeze by helping nervous systems gently discharge unresolved activation and build resilience to stress. SE enhances regulation, restores a sense of ease in the body, and increases the capacity to engage in life with more clarity and presence.

Somatic Experiencing offers a new and hopeful perspective on trauma. It views the human as a unique being, endowed with an instinctual capacity to heal.

A 5-Session Somatic Experiencing Series for New Clients

Somatic healing begins with listening.

In our first sessions together, we begin building a new relationship with your body — one that is grounded in safety, curiosity, and awareness.

Through Somatic Experiencing, gentle movement, and guided body awareness, we start to notice how your nervous system organizes stress, protection, and resilience. These sessions create the foundation for deeper healing by helping your body rediscover its natural capacity to regulate, release tension, and restore balance.

This 5-session series is designed for new clients who want to begin exploring somatic work in a supportive and structured way.

Together we will:

• begin reconnecting with the wisdom of your body
• build nervous system awareness and capacity
• explore patterns of stress, tension, or protection
• introduce tools for grounding and regulation
• create a safe foundation for deeper work

For many people, these first sessions bring a sense of relief, clarity, and new understanding of their body’s responses.

And at the same time, this is only the beginning.

Somatic healing is not about fixing something quickly. It is about slowly expanding your body’s capacity to feel, process, and live with more ease.

Five sessions allow us to start the conversation with your nervous system. Real integration unfolds over time.

In 2023 Riikka graduated from Edinburgh, Scotland and is practising SE with her clients in-person in Helsinki Finland and internationally online.

Riikka is part of Somatic Experiencing Finland ry and part of Finland’s Somatic Experiencing training team. Riikka enjoys assisting internationally in various Somatic Experiencing trainings.
